Sünje holds a master degree of business administration from the Leuphana University of Lueneburg with major in environmental economics and foreign languages.

Since the end of her studies in 2005, Sünje has been dealing with climate change issues, both from a scientific and a practical perspective. In her scientific work, she mainly focused on the European Emissions Trading Scheme and its implications on companies. Following her ambitions to find local solutions for climate change issues, she led a demonstration project on applications of hydrogen in urban public transport and is now active in a nature conservation association in Hamburg.

Sünje joined the greenwerk. in 2015. She is responsible for planning and realisation of delegation trips to Germany.
