After graduating with a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Linkoping University, Sweden, Anna focused her early career on water and climate adaptation in transboundary cooperation working with the Regional Environmental Center for Eastern Europe in Hungary, Global Water Partnership in Sweden and the Mekong River Commission in Lao PDR. This was followed by a fellowship with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 2014 Anna moved to South Africa where she worked as an independent consultant supporting a regional project aimed to leverage finance for the development of climate-resilient water infrastructure in Southern Africa.
In 2015 Anna started working as a climate change consultant with the Regional Office of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) based in Bangkok, Thailand. As part of her work Anna engaged in the development of GEF and GCF proposals and coordinated a project on providing readiness support for direct access to climate finance as well as several short-term local technical assistances. She also contributed to different regional trainings on National Adaptation Plans and supported the implementation of a regional GEF project, providing technical backstopping on selection and design of urban ecosystem-based adaptation interventions and contributing to knowledge management.
Anna is also experienced in stakeholder engagement and coordinated extensive stakeholder consultations, including for an Integrated Flood Resilience Strategy for the city of Yangon, Myanmar, a technical assistance funded by the World Bank.
At the greenwerk. Anna is working on advisory activities on aspects of international climate policy and finance, elaborating funding proposals for international donors and climate funds and supporting GCF Readiness activities.
